Fireside Orchard & Gardens Inc. is a 50+ acre, family-owned orchard near Northfield, MN. We grow 27 varieties of apples, and we specialize in Minnesota-grown apples. We focus on Minnesota fruit because of our excellent temperate weather environment and the abundance of amazing apple varieties Minnesota has discovered. Our goal is to grow excellent apples and provide a wonderful family experience for our customers to enjoy the best of what Minnesota has to offer.
History
Fireside Orchard & Gardens, Inc. was started with the original tree plantings by the Harvey family in 1986. While most of the original plantings of trees have been replaced, the goal of growing Minnesota apples still applies today. The orchard, in its current iteration, was started with the construction of what is now the production building in 1995. Additions of the cold storage building and, most recently, the new retail building in 2019 have evolved the orchard into what it is today.
In 2022, Fireside Orchard & Gardens, Inc. was purchased by Darren Winfield and his family. With a diversified history of agriculture production, finance, and marketing, the Winfield family is well poised to continue what the Harvey family started and continue to grow the orchard into something even greater. Our goal is to invest in the orchard, the employees, the community, and customers to provide a place for all of us to gather together and enjoy something special.
